PE Vision Statement

PE Vision Statement

Our vision at Pottery Primary School is for all children to experience outstanding physical education, school sport and physical activity. Our aim is that through all sporting opportunities and physical activities offered, children will create a deep passion for sport leading to life-long participation.

Our PE curriculum aims to ensure that all children develop the fundamental skills needed to excel in a wide range of physical activities by providing a broad and balanced curriculum. We aim to provide children with at least 2 hours of exciting and active PE lessons every week. Children will learn the importance of a healthy life-style, self-expression and vital concepts such as fair play and good sportsmanship.

At Pottery we endeavour to give as many children as possible opportunities to participate in competitive sports through offering a variety of competitions through intra-competition or through representing the school at local events. By doing this we hope to develop children’s confidence and team work skills. We also offer opportunities for children to organise, lead and take ownership of running their own games for their peers.

We are very proud of the PE and sporting opportunities children are offered at Pottery, and we aim to continue to develop our PE in the future to prepare our children for life-long participation in sport and the knowledge in how to live a healthy, active life-style.
